Thomas Westlake

Thomas Westlake was born in County Somerset, England, on 21 Nov 1838, to George Westlake and Amy Ann Bailey. He was married to Elizabeth Trego on 18 Sep 1859, at Emanuel Church in Weston-super-Mare, England. Thomas brought his family to America in 1870 settling near Independence, IA, to apply his trade as a stonemason. Later he moved to a farm at Gatesville, IA, that he had bought. At some point in time he became a naturalized citizen of this country. Some time after his first wife died, he moved to Missouri. He did remarry but I do not yet know when or where. He died at his home in Liberal, Barton County, Mo, Monday, 19 Sep 1927, following an illness of pneumonia. He was buried in Barton County, MO.
